This Privacy Policy explains how Nkahlotha Solutions (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Hire Me mobile application and our website at https://hireme.didsinc.co.za (the “Service”). We are based in South Africa and process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Where applicable, we also provide disclosures aligned with GDPR and other global requirements.

2) Information we collect

Account & Profile

  • Name, email, phone number, password (hashed), profile photo, service categories/preferences.

  • Social login data if you choose Google or Facebook sign-in (tokens and profile info provided by the provider).

Location

  • Precise or approximate location (to show nearby providers, map routes, estimate arrival times). We request device permission first.

Communications

  • In-app chat/messages with service providers and notifications you receive from us.

  • Customer support queries and responses.

Content you upload

  • Photos, documents, and other files you choose to share (e.g., job photos, certificates).

Device & App info

  • Device model, OS version, app version, language, push notification token (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging).

  • Log data such as timestamps, IP address, and diagnostic events for security and troubleshooting.

Payments & Transactions

  • Booking/payment selections and transaction references. We do not store full card numbers; payment processors handle sensitive card data where applicable.

We do not collect contacts, calendar, or health data.


3) How we use your information (Purposes)

  • Provide and operate the Service (account, authentication, bookings, navigation, messaging).

  • Show nearby service providers and route jobs using location.

  • Send confirmations, updates, and push notifications (with your permission).

  • Ensure safety, security, and fraud prevention.

  • Provide customer support and respond to requests.

  • Improve performance and user experience, including analytics and troubleshooting.

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

No third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal information.


4) Legal bases (POPIA / GDPR)

  • Consent: e.g., push notifications, location services, optional marketing.

  • Contract: to deliver the Service you requested (account, bookings, payments).

  • Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, product improvement.

  • Legal obligation: record-keeping and compliance.

You can withdraw consent at any time in app/device settings (e.g., disable location or notifications).


5) Sharing your information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

  • Service providers & infrastructure (e.g., hosting, cloud messaging via Google Firebase, maps/geolocation via Google Maps Platform).

  • Payment processors (if you complete payments in-app or via web checkout).

  • Matched service providers (limited profile & booking details to fulfil your job).

  • Compliance & safety (lawful requests, preventing harm or fraud).

  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, or asset sale).

Recipients are bound by confidentiality and appropriate data-protection commitments.


6) International data transfers

Our servers and partners may be located outside your country. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.


7) Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above and as required by law (e.g., finance records). You may request account deletion; we then delete or anonymise data not required to be retained.


8) Your rights

Subject to local law, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.

  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Port your data.

  • Withdraw consent (e.g., for notifications, location, or marketing).

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent.


11) Third-party technologies we use

  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications and device tokens).

  • Google Maps Platform (maps and geolocation features).

  • Google Sign-In / Facebook Login (if you choose these) for authentication.

These providers may process data under their own privacy policies as independent controllers.


12) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other reasonable means. The updated Policy is effective upon posting.
